I have a new phone
It is a Nokia E65 and I’ve been lusting over it for a little while. I just got back from a trip (more later) and at the end of it discovered my Nokia 6680 didn’t transmit, only received. So I was having these fabbo conversations where I could hear what the other person was saying, but they couldn’t hear me.
That phone is getting assessed right now, and maybe it’s fixable and maybe it isn’t, and if it is, maybe I’ll fix it and maybe I won’t, but I decided to treat this calamity as a message from the gods that I ought to buy my new toy.
And here it is. It’s a slider, and I love it to pieces. And it cost me only fifty bucks more than the last one 2.5 years ago. Can’t be bad
It has all the stuff I have come to expect – multiple email boxes (and you can choose your own ports, yay!) bluetooth etc, but I’m also pleased to see an RSS feed reader and, oh boy, wireless – woohoo!
My bank balance has noticeably shrunk but I don’t care
Sometimes a girl needs a little present.

$750 eh? Wow, that’s like, 2 pairs of knee high boots. Three, if they’re on sale. Twenty, if you get ‘em at the No. 1 Shoe Warehouse.
I’m glad you really love your new phone
For you it’s a phone, for your grandmother (F) it was shoes, belts, shoes, handbags and shoes – in that order.
For your mother? well, that’s into the wonderland of ‘What does she *really* want?’ and I don’t play that game any more, having failed spectacularly – although Paris~Barcelona met with a modicum of approval.
Love
I had no idea F was a shoe-lady. That gene hasn’t made it to me (but has to you, I venture)
I do like phones, but I also like other things. Don’t want you to think my lusts are limited to phones
Violet – I detect another shoe-fetishist. I assume shoe-desirability is correlated with expense? ie the 2-pairs-for-$750 would be more desirable than the 20-at-the-Shoe-Warehouse?
Brilliant!
